How
to get Your Child to Read More
Don, the
publisher of We Both Read, a children's book
series was kind enough to give some advice
on how parents can get their children more
interested in reading.
Question:
Is there any way parents can get their
children interested in reading more?
Don's Answer:
Often children are reluctant to read
because they are not exposed to books that
interest them. Boys are often reluctant
readers, but they may become interested in
graphic novels, as well as books with a big
“gross-out factor.”
One
important key, however, is to read to
children early and read to them
often. Children who are read to regularly,
and also see their parents reading, are more
likely to become readers themselves.
